We are pleased to have Coach Ross Morgan at the helm supervising the development of our player base and delivering continuous education to the staff. Coach Ross is a British National from Cardiff, Wales. His coaching career spans over the past 15 years, of which 9 years were in the U.K. He is a past staff for the Welsh, FA., received the FAW Prelim Award in 1994, UEFA (United European Football Association) C license conversion in 1998, and the UEFA B license in 1999. He completed Par I of the UEFA A license in 2003 and Part II in 2005.
The Myrtle Beach native joins Coast FA after a successful stint as Director of Coaching for the former Coastal Soccer Club. Joel posseses a wealth of coaching knowledge and experience at every level of soccer. He is presently the Assistant Camp Director for Coastal Carolina Soccer Camps, and also the Director for all CCSC day camps. He led both the Myrtle Beach High School Boys and Girls Programs to the ranks of the elite in the state, having also coached at Lowcountry Day School and Socastee High School. Coach Banta’s playing experience includes playing for Coastal Carolina University, appearing in the 1995 NCAA Tournament. He holds a USSF C License.
Helped lead his club team to two premier state championships before playing collegiately at Houghton College where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1998. While there, he helped the squad to three NAIA National Tournament appearances and a National ranking as high as No. 3.
NSCAA Advanced National Coaching Diploma as well as a National Goalkeeping Diploma.Coach Joel settled in Myrtle Beach after serving as an assistant coach with the men’s soccer program at St. Bonaventure University. While there, he helped the Bonnies to a No. 12 national ranking (NCAA Division 1). Prior to that, he spent two years at his alma mater, Houghton College, working as an assistant soccer coach. He also served as an assistant coach at Coastal Carolina University for three years.

Started playing at age 6 and moved "in-between the sticks" around the age of 9-10. Played predominantly for local team, Garforth Rangers, up until moving to America in November, 2012. Played for youth academies at professional teams, Leeds United and Middlesbrough and at County Level. Played Rugby and Cricket through College. Now play for Myrtle Beach Mutiny. Started Coaching in schools in England as a teacher in 2010.

I have metal in my face! After getting a knee to the face whilst playing soccer. I had to have metal plates placed around my cheek and eye to repair my orbital lobe which was fractured in 3 places! Still had the ball in my hand though...
I played for many rec and travel teams in New York, Florida, and Alabama. I was selected for the Alabama U-18 state team and Alabama All- Star team while in high school. Played one year in college at University of Alabama before sustaining a knee injury. I have coached U6 and U8 rec for the last 4 years at CoastFA.
When I’m not at the soccer fields you can always find me water-skiing down the waterway.
She started her soccer career at Herkimer County Community College in Herkimer, NY where she was named an All-America Selection for the NSCAA (2004) & NJCAA (2003) and was also named the Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year in 2003. She transferred to Coastal Carolina University where she played Division 1 soccer for the last two years of her soccer career.

Coach Raphael Carr obtained an “E” coaching license through the SCYSL in June of 2010. Raphael’s coaching experience began in 1995 and includes stints with Socastee High, Conway High, and St. James High schools with the varsity and junior varsity soccer teams. Raphael is a native of Myrtle Beach and played soccer at Erskine College. Following college Raphael helped establish Socastee High as a formidable soccer program in SC. Raphael played pro-soccer with the USISL teams (Myrtle Beach Boyz and Myrtle Beach Sea Dawgs from 1995 through 1999).
Coach Pat comes back to Coast FA after being gone for a few years. Coach Pat has been apart of the Coast FA staff for 7 years now. Coach Pat is a native of New Jersey but has been in the Carolinas for the last 15 years. He played his college soccer at Mars Hill College where he is now a member of the Mars Hill College Athletic Hall of Fame. After Mars Hill Coach Pat went on to play professional soccer with the South Carolina Shamrocks. After Coach Pat’s playing career was over he became the Assistant Men’s and Women’s coach at Wingate University. He earned his NSCAA National Diploma and Goalkeeper Diploma in 2001. Coach Pat also was an Assistant Coach at Francis Marion University for the Men’s team. Coach Pat is also a current member of the South Carolina ODP staff.
Coach China holds a USSF “D” Coaching license. He is originally from South Africa, where he played both Professionally and National representing his country in the Junior World Cup. He played college soccer at Coastal Carolina University, helping lead the Chants to an NCAA Nationals in the 2004 and 2005 seasons. During his final year, he became part of the men and women’s soccer programs in training the players at Coastal Carolina University. Upon his graduation, China became heavy involved in soccer. He worked as a staff member during the ODP Region III camp in the summer of 2007. He currently serves as a Head Coach with CoastFA and as a Co-Founder and Director of KICKOFF SOCCER ACADEMY. Last year he served as the Assistant Coach at Coastal Carolina Men’s soccer where they were crowned Champions in the Big South Conference. He also coaches individual and small group training sessions throughout the Grand Strand.
Coach Mueller is a native of Alabama but moved to the Myrtle Beach area in 2002. He has been coaching at the high school level since 1997. He started out in 1997 as an assistant head coach and goalkeepers coach for the Coffee High School girls program in Florence, AL. In 1998-99 he was an assistant and goal keepers coach for Bradshaw High School boys program also in Florence, AL. Upon his arrival to SC in 2002 he became the Carolina Forest High School’s assistant and goal keepers coach. After a brief stint as the assistant head coach and goal keepers coach for Muscle Shoals High School in 2003 he returned to the Myrtle Beach area. In 2004-2006 he was the JV head coach and goalkeepers coach for North Myrtle Beach High. From 2007-2009 he also added the duties of assistant head coach for North Myrtle Beach’s Varsity boys program to his busy schedule. In 2010 he was named North Myrtle Beach’s Boys Varsity head coach. During his 1st season the team ranked #1 and finished 23-2-1. He still currently holds the varsity head coach position.
Coach Perez-Luna played high school soccer with Ramiro de Maeztu HS in Madrid, First Division (Premier) La Liga in Spain U16/18, semiprofessional 3rd Division La Liga Spain with San Cristobal FC and semiprofessional German/American in New York with Internationale. He has coached youth YMCA teams in Myrtle Beach and Clermont Florida. He has also coached U9/10 travelling teams at South Lake Soccer Club in Clermont Florida. He has been an assistant coach for Coast FA U16/17/18 teams. He is the Senior VP and General Manager at Medieval Times MB and manages/coaches 200 team members.
Coach Apanowicz played high school soccer at Colonie High School in Albany, NY from 1989-1993. He was the All-time leading scorer and assist leader. He was all-state player for 3 years. He played collegiately at Coastal Carolina from 1993-1998. He played professionally from 1999-2002 for the Myrtle Beach Seadawgs. He also had a small stint with the Buffalo Blizzards of the Major Indoor Soccer League. He has coached with the Waccamaw Girls Varsity program as well as with the SURF soccer club. He also served as a staff coach at Coastal Carolina Soccer Camps.
Coach Curtis started his coaching career in 1986 with the Grand Strand YMCA. After 5 years, he moved onto coach with Coastal Soccer Club before moving on to coach in Columbia, SC as well as California. He returned to Myrtle Beach in 2008 and has been working to develop a strong girls program for the area. Curtis has been coaching Girls soccer since 1993 and has spent many years developing an effective method for coaching females under the guidance of Anson Dorrance (UNC), Kevin Boyd (CAL, ASU) and Neil McGuire (CAL). Coach Mary Jo started her collegiate career at Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio
where she played 2 seasons. While at Walsh, she was voted as the offensive MVP, and named to the America Mid-east conference team. After two seasons at Walsh, she transferred to and played soccer at Coastal Carolina University, graduating in 2004. While at CCU, she was named to the Big South Second team in 2002. She started her coaching career at Conway High School in 2003. Coach Mary Jo coached the junior varsity soccer team and assisted with the varsity team in 2003 and 2004. After graduation, she attended The University of Akron and obtained a Masters in Sports Science and Coaching. While there she was a graduate assistant coach for the Zips women’s soccer team for the 2004-2005 academic year. She ended up back in Myrtle Beach and at CCU to attain a degree in teaching Physical Education. The 2012 spring soccer season marked her first season as the head coach for the Myrtle Beach Lady Seahawks Soccer team. This will be her first season being involved in club soccer and is looking forward to the wonderful experience.
Coach Donnie Price currently holds a USSF "C" license and has coached boys and girls youth soccer for more than 15 years at the Recreational, Select and ODP Levels in South Carolina for the local YMCA, formal OSSOC and Coastal Soccer Clubs. As a coach in the Myrtle Beach area his teams have placed in tournament finals in locations ranging from Florida to Virginia over 40 times. As a former Director and Assistant Director of Coaching in the Myrtle Beach area he has worked and organized various youth summer camps and coordinated coaching clinics in both South and North Carolina to educate both players and coaches in the technical aspects of the game. After a five year stint on the west coast Coach Donnie Price returns to the Myrtle Beach area and is excited to assist Coast FA in player development.
Coach Blomdahl grew up playing soccer on the Grand Strand and played for all three organizations which is now Coast FA. While playing for Waccamaw High School, Justin was the most decorated soccer player in school history garnishing All-Region and All-State accolades and was the Toast of the Coast Player of the Year. Justin was also a player with the S.C. Olympic Development Program and was selected for the Clash of the Carolinas All-Star Team. He graduated in May (2012) with a Physical Education/Leisure Services Degree from Newberry College where he was a scholarship player for four years. While at Newberry, Justin was selected as the Most Valuable Player, Team Captain, and was selected to represent Newberry College at the South Atlantic Conference. Coach Blomdahl has been coaching summer soccer camps for Coastal Carolina Soccer Academy the past 3 years and is now a full-time coach with Coast FA.
Coach Madi Owens grew up playing soccer for a top level team in Colorado and then moved to Georgia where she played on an Elite Soccer Team for Norcross Fury and trained ODP. She played four years of Varsity Soccer in High School and as captain, lead the team to be the State Champions. She was then recruited by Coastal Carolina University to play soccer, however, wanting to coach she decided not to play for Coastal’s D1 team. She currently plays for Coastal Carolina’s Women’s Club Soccer team and is studying Early Childhood Education. She received her “E” coaching license this past summer and has been working with the U-13 Crush and Crush Too girls.
Coach Jeremy Glick has over 30 years of playing and coaching experience. He started his playing career on the grand strand and later moved on to play in Virginia, eventually moving back to Myrtle Beach and made the open tryouts for the Myrtle Beach Boyz first season. Coach Glick has coached U-13, U-14, and U-15 select boys teams, reaching 1 state cup final and 1 semi-final in 2 years of coaching. He is presently entering his second season as West Florence JV girls head coach after guiding them to a 8-2 record last season. Coach Glick opened First Touch Futbol Academy in June of 2012 and presently trains 25 players of all ages and ability, including 5 premier level players. Two of which have recently been offered full scholarships from D1 schools. Coach Glick will be helping several coaches this spring and will be coaching a team in the fall. He holds a D coaching license. Coach Glick is very excited about joining Coast FA and looks forward to meeting everyone very soon.
Coach Schoen began coaching soccer as an assistant coach at Georgetown High School in 1996 for one season before taking over the Waccamaw Boys Varsity program, where he has been the head coach for the past 15 years. In that span, his teams have compiled over 200 victories and made eight trips to the South Carolina AA State Semi-Finals. Coach Schoen has had the honor of coaching the SCHSSCA North South All-Star game two times in 2006 and 2011, and was named the South Carolina State High School Boys Soccer Coach of the Year by the SCHSSCA in 2010. In addition to coaching high school soccer, he has had three stints coaching local club soccer, coaching a girls U-14 team in 2001, a boys U-12 team in 2002 and also a boys U-17 team in 2006. He is extremely excited to join Coast FA and again coach younger players in addition to his high school coaching. Coach Schoen currently holds his “D” license. Outside of coaching, Coach Schoen teaches English at Waccamaw High School and especially enjoys his time with his wife Jill and their two children, 9 year-old son Jacob and 4 year-old daughter Skylar, both of whom are budding young soccer players.
Coach Aaron’s soccer days started at the age of 5. Since then Aaron has played, coached, and been an admirer of the beautiful game for 23 years. Originally from West Virginia, Aaron played for the EPIC club in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia in competitive leagues such as ODSL and NCSL in the greater DC area. Aaron played all four years at Martinsburg High School, and was elected to All-State honors, as well as Top XI in both his area and region. After declining a scholarship to play college soccer, he went on to West Virginia University and played for multiple clubs until graduation. Since then he has coached both in the recreational leagues ages U8-U10, as well as coaching at the same club he once played for, the U16 boys EPIC Hotspur. Coach Aaron is eager and thrilled to teach his soccer experiences to the youth of Coast FA.
Coach Robert is originally from Bel Air, Maryland. He played soccer in High School and received 1st Team All- State, 1st Team All- Metro, and Harford County Player of the Year as a Senior.He played soccer for North Carolina Wesleyan Soccer. Coach Robert started his coaching career in 2006 working The Soccer Survival Camp annually. He also played rugby in High School and College and Represented the U-19 National Rugby Team.
Coach Luis Brennes has been playing futball (soccer) in Costa Rica since he was 6 year old. Luis started playing competitive futball for Saprissa Futball Club (The most famous team of Costa Rica) when he was 9 years old. He Played for Saprissa from 1987 - 1990 in the Costa Rican 1st and 2nd division. Unfortunately a torn ACL cut his playing career short. Since moving to the USA Luis has been passionate about coaching soccer. Luis coached in New Jersey for 3 years, before moving to Myrtle Beach where he has been coaching for the past 4 years. Futball is his passion and Luis intends to gain higher level coaching licenses and continue his soccer education.
