Coast Boys Dominant in Savannah

Five Coast boys teams entered the top divisions of the Savannah Boys Rule Tournament over the weekend and returned home with three championships and one finalist result.

Coach Joel Banta’s Coast 99 Red team beat two Charlotte Soccer Academy squads in the round robin play and defeated Atlanta Concord Fire Central 1-0 in the championship match after tying 2-2 in the round robin. Click for Image

The Coast 00 Red team coached by Kevin McGovern took the championship in thrilling fashion winning in a PK shootout over Inter Atlanta FC after cruising through their opening round matches in decisive fashion.Click for Image

The Coast 02 Red team coached by Donnie Price and Ben Schoen also brought home top honors while outscoring the opponents by a combined 16-5 margin. Click for Image

Coach Swavek Apanowicz’s Coast 03 Red won three straight matches before falling to top ranked Florida Arlington Elite 3-1 in the championship. Arlington enjoyed three one sided matches and had not surrendered a goal before meeting Coast in the finals.Click for Image

Coast Director of coaching Joel Banta was thrilled with the clubs success in the pre season event. " This tournament was loaded with metropolitan area teams from all across Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas so to come away with the hardware that we won is impressive. It also prepares our young teams for their league play which starts next weekend."
