Ten Coast FA seniors received $23,000.00 to help offset future college tuition tonight at Socastee Park. The 5k for Kali was created three years ago to honor the life of Kali Rank. Kali played on the Coast 05g Red team and tragically lost her life in an auto accident in Aynor, South Carolina. Maddie Weathers was a teammate and floated the idea of a 5k in her memory to raise funds for future Coast FA players. Three years have passed and this year’s event had two hundred plus participants and tremendous support from our business community.  “ The race size and amount raised has basically doubled each year since the inception. We gathered all of our players tonight for a brief ceremony to show the love to the Rank family. We are striving to create something positive from this tragedy and connect the dots with our younger players to show them what is truly important in this life. Kali was a terrific kid and our goal is to continue this scholarship fundraiser in her memory for many years to come ” said Coast Director Heyward Gulledge.
