Coker University signed two standout players from the decorated Coast 02g Red team today to continue their rebuilding effort in Hartsville. Lexi Lilly and Shannon Felker signed their letters of intent at Carolina Forest High School to play for the Cobras next season and compete in the South Atlantic Conference. Both girls played integral roles for Coach RJ Bass at Coast and were also teammates on the powerful Carolina Forest Panthers side.

“Shannon played an important role the past two seasons in our team’s success. She came to Coast from West Virginia and brought a winning mentality with her from her previous club. She became the heart of our midfield and was responsible for protecting our back line while also setting the tempo for our team. Her presence allowed us to be successful in our style of play. We are excited that she is continuing her soccer career at Coker University “ said Coach Bass.

Shannon added “ With only having two years at Coast my time has been valued and it has made me grow as a player. These twenty four months of being on Coach RJ’s team have brought me memories that I will always cherish and friends that I will always keep close. Having additional opportunities in the club such as coaching a team of younger players has brought me closer to my passion and to my future. Coast FA as an organization has been very helpful with my goal of playing at the next level. I would like to thank all of my coaches and everyone that has helped me reach my potential over the years. “

“ Every team has a talisman. When things get difficult she is the person our team turned to for a spark. Since the day that Lexi joined our club she has been that person. She has an unmatched work rate, a winning mentality and is a goal scoring machine. Lexi scored forty seven goals over her last forty five matches while playing in very difficult league matches and tournaments. It will be fun to see how her skills serve her at the collegiate level “ said Coach Bass.

“ The past five years at Coast has been an amazing experience. The club helped me develop as a player and prepared me for the next level of soccer. I will never forget everything that they did for me. This is by far the best club that I have ever played for and I would like to give special thanks to Coach RJ . I would not be the person or player that I am today without his constant support “ said Lexi.
