Coast Spring Classic

Four Coast FA teams made their way to the trophy presentation over the second weekend at the 13th Annual Coast Spring Classic in Myrtle Beach , South Carolina. In all 334 teams from five states competed in the event at beautiful North Myrtle Beach Sports Park and The Grande Park at the Market Commons. “ This tournament helps our club and our community so much. After having to cancel the 2020 event it felt really special to be back hosting teams from all over the southeast. We are so thankful for the support from all of the clubs “ Said Coast Director Joel Banta.

Coach Nicole Griffith’s Coast 13 Red (Click for Image) stole the show in the U8 division posting four consecutive victories to claim top honors. “ It is awesome to see the kids hard work at practice pay off and go undefeated to win this tournament.  We worked together as a team and didn’t give up. Fun to watch them develop as players and work hard. Everyone left it on the field and they should be very proud of themselves. Proud to be their coach! We deserved this! “ said Coach Nicole.

The Coast 09 Red (Click for Image) ended their 9v9 careers with a bang by claiming the championship at u12 boys. The boys reeled off four straight victories and only conceded one goal along the way. “ Outstanding way to finish out the season with a win! These boys came together and put the game away when needed this weekend. I am absolutely proud of how much this group has grown and advanced into a solid team. Couldn’t ask for a better group of boys to coach “ said Coach Vollink.

Coach Rj Bass and his Coast 10 Black (Click for Image) boys came up just short to finish as finalist in the u11 boys division. After going 2-0-1 in pool play the boys dropped a heartbreaker 0-1 to PISA in the final. “ We had four very hard fought matches this weekend but just could not break through in our final. I am extremely proud of the boys performance to end the season ‘ said Coach Bass.

The Coast 11 Red (Click for Image) boys had never played a single match in the 9v9 format until this weekend and nearly walked away with a championship. The boys dropped a 1-2 result in double overtime to Charleston Soccer Club to finish as finalists. “ We did amazing well in our first tournament at 9v9. This group of players have a bright future in front of them and I was proud to be their coach this season “ said Coach Dan Martin
